“The Presidential Challenge is a terrific event that supports our community through the United Way, while reinforcing the personal commitment of our city’s business leaders to help affect positive change.”

On Thursday, October 20, 2011 Rob Bruce, Chair, Presidential Challenge and President, Communications, Rogers Communications, invited Toronto’s executives to a special opportunity to take the lead as one of the first climbers at the 2011 Enbridge CN Tower Climb for United Way. The response was outstanding—climbers rose to the top, beating last year’s fundraising total. So far, the 40 participating climbers have raised over $130,000 for the cause and they’re still fundraising!

As part of the event each year, the Presidential Challenge is a chance for our city’s leaders to make a difference in a way that helps create opportunities for a better life for everyone in our communities. The pledges that they gather will benefit United Way Toronto’s Community Fund, supporting over 200 health and social service agencies in our community.

In 2010, 28 executives participated in the Presidential Challenge and raised almost $123,000 for United Way Toronto. This year, we are excited for the fundraising leadership that participating executives are bringing to the climb. To each of you, we want to thank you for your outstanding support!
